![]() Path of Exile has a wide range of different classes and specializations along with a massive skill tree. Unfortunately, both Diablo 3 and Path of Exile fail to see the importance of this aspect. We play ARPGs to grind for the loot so we can work on better builds. Loot is arguably the most important aspect of an ARPG. This offers tons of replayability where you can try out different classes and specializations to find the right playstyle for you. Path of Exile also has a more advanced skill tree that offers a wider range of skill build options. However, Path of Exile also has a great combat system that looks more realistic than Diablo 3. The skill animations are also quite amazing. You can feel every action and weight of every blow. When it comes to combat, Diablo 3 has a well-polished combat system. Although it does feel a bit outdated today since the game hasn’t received any new content, visual improvements, or expansions in years. Especially after a series of graphical improvements, the game now looks gorgeous and on par with modern ARPGs.ĭiablo 3 has stunning graphics and gameplay mechanics. I couldn’t survive the game until I played the game while following a tutorial series on YouTube. Path of Exile will also test your patience and skill to its limits with its increasing difficulty that actually made me quit the game twice. But Path of Exile has 10 acts that will take at least 30 hours to complete if you follow through with the storyline and side-quests. It took me less than 8 hours to complete the Diablo 3 campaign, which was very short. Having said that, Path of Exile does have a much longer campaign. Unless you follow a guide, you’ll struggle to find the main missions to continue through the campaign. And the main missions are scattered around the place. It doesn’t have cut scenes that give you context on what’s happening. Path of Exile, on the other hand, has a pretty messy campaign. It keeps you connected with the characters throughout the campaign and it actually makes the campaign fun and easy to follow through each mission. The gameplay, the campaign, the looting, and everything was smooth and fun.Ībove all, Diablo 3 has the best campaign story I’ve seen in an ARPG. ![]() The game was everything I’ve ever wanted in a dungeon crawler. I fell in love with Diablo 3 at first sight. I actually played both games and loved them both.īut, let’s face it, I have a favorite. When talking about ARPGs, Diablo and Path of Exile are two of the games that always come out on top.īut which game is superior? You’ll have to restart a few times or read the wiki to learn that lesson. It also happens to have a distinct lack of tutorial past the first minute of the game and fails to tell you incredibly crucial and basic things about how to play, such as that vagrant camps disappear if they don’t have trees around them and that you can therefore never cut those trees down, or that valuable rabbit dens only grow in plains outside your walls, discouraging expansion. It is the epitome of that concept that elegant game design is maximizing strategic depth while minimizing complexity. It has extremely simple controls yet deep gameplay that relies upon understanding how the AI units under your command will react to fairly simple commands. It is a game that manages to be a perfect example of atmospheric game design even while using such basic pixel graphics. Kingdom is a franchise that I both love and hate. You’re actively more capable of defending your allies now, so if anything, it’s less scary. The only thing that really seems to change are the backgrounds of the island, the fact that the “good guy” is a vampire riding a zombie horse, and how the wild rabbits are for some reason replaced with chickens. The description of Dead Lands states that it is “darker” and “more gothic” than the original Kingdom, however… umm… the original slogan was “nothing lasts”, basically is about how everyone is inevitably going to die and features almost ceaseless death. If you already owned Kingdom Two Crowns, this is a free update, so you might as well give it a spin. The Dead Lands expansion is a totally free expansion that automatically unlocks (along with the almost totally cosmetic Shogun expansion that turns things Japanese) so long as you purchase the base game of Kingdom Two Crowns. In terms of tone, the two games certainly share similarities, but in terms of actual gameplay (and what kind of gamer would therefore be interested), I have to wonder how large the overlap in the Venn Diagram between playerbases might be. ![]() ![]() Dead Lands, however, crosses over with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (and they also offer a bundle for buying both games at once), which is probably one of the more unusual crossovers I’ve seen. Up until this latest expansion, the monarch was generally defenseless but for the ability to hire soldiers or possibly ride a dangerous mount. ![]() The Greed are slime monsters that want your stuff: They want your coins, they want your peasant’s tools and weapons, and they want your crown. Music theory: I started learning piano and sheet music. After trying to familiarize myself with my DAW, i started to structure my learning as follow: If you don't mind me asking, what are the key things that you did and that helped you transit from a beginner to an intermediate level ? For me, I started 8 months ago. Again, really emphasizes on using your ears and trusting your decisions while giving some advice to keep things clean. I think Simon really made sure he's getting his advice over into paying customers and it shows that he cares vs trying to be entertaining on youtube. Only the intros to each modules have some funny edits/cuts, but the lessons themselves are pretty formal. It's definitely a lot less goofy than the youtube channel. One thing different from Simon's usual youtube tutorials is that there's a more serious tone to this course. Not necessary by any means, but if you can afford it comfortably, I'd say it's worth it.Įdit: Went through more of the course tonight (about halfway through). Honestly, thinking about it, I'd say it's probably the most elaborate course I can remember taking. There's also a large emphasis on ear training, which again is pretty unique. Different examples using different beats/songs are shown while through the course there's a beat that starts off from scratch in module 1 and is constantly adjusted in each module until the beat is finished.įrom what I've seen, the course shows how you can combine both audiation and music theory. One thing I do think he does very well, is unlike most tutorials where someone may blast through making the beat and they explain things afterward, Simon makes a beat and explains the decisions while going through each part: the melody, harmonies, counter melodies, decorations, drums, 808/bassline, etc. Some prior knowledge of theory will go a long way beforehand. ![]() It's structured very well, puts an emphasis on music theory, however, unlike most courses it also places an emphasis on getting the melody/beat by ear: referred to as "audition". That said, I think for a beginner it may be a little fast in some spots and people will probably have to rewind a few times. It's structured very well and progresses in a natural fashion. I haven't finished it (I'm about 1/3 through), but I've also got some gems from it already. I purchased the course recently and really think it's solid. I'll probably open up a youtube channel soon. I'd say I'm at the point where I can make music I really enjoy reliably and am confident enough to show it to other people and get good feedback on it. I consider myself somewhat intermediate: solid with music theory, sound design and how to make different types of beats/songs (trap, drill, r&b and pop) overall. ![]() It can fit in the back pockets of my bag and can also easily slide in plastic envelopes together with my art papers. These markers come in a sturdy tin case as well. You can get a lot of control over it anyway since it is a firmer kind of brush. ![]() Please don’t put too much pressure on it. It has a tendency to fray, which is why I would suggest just using the brush tips lightly. If you are a bit finicky though and prefer brush tips to complete your artwork, you might not find this ideal.Īs for its brush tips, I like how lush it is. I can always adjust and use the complementary colors on the ultra fine tip to achieve the look that I want. On the other hand, there are a lot of good colors incorporated in this. It would have been better if both tips have the same colors and they just added more markers. This limits what you can do with your art. However, the dark orange color is only available on the brush tip. For instance, if you like to use a dark orange color but you want it in the ultra fine tip. I think this is both good and bad because you can’t use the same color for the tip that you want. Each side of the marker has a different color, so you are getting 32 complementary colors. One set of these markers with brush tips include 16 markers. One side is a brush tip and the other side is an ultra fine tip. This brand doesn’t make crayons and regular markers, they also make good markers, particularly this one with its dual tips. It’s not very consistent, so you might find yourself wondering why other markers look brighter and others look more vivid.ģ. I do find that some colors are more opaque than others. It dries up easily, so you don’t have to worry about getting the ink all over your hands. It also doesn’t get streaky because it has a good drying time. I do find that even with minimal effort, it can still be blended. There are primary and complementary colors that you can use to make your drawings pop out. If you are just starting out, you will find these color options sufficient. I like that it comes with a label so I can easily match with their corresponding caps. These brush tip markers come with 60 different colors of markers, all of them properly labeled. At least I still have extras in case the brush tips wear out faster than expected. I would say that although they are not the most durable, the spare ones make up for this downside. This set comes with 3 spare brush tips and 2 fine liner tips. I guess this is the reason why they included replacement tips. After a few uses, they start showing signs of wear and tear. My only problem with this is that the brush tips are not as durable as I would have wanted them. This cone comes with a brush tip and a fine tip. However, many markers only come with a chisel tip and a fine tip, not a brush tip, which is why this is a good find. Ohuhu Art Markers Dual Tips Coloring Brush Fineliner Color Pensĭual tip markers are not uncommon. With these, the brush fibers stayed in place.Ģ. I did not experience fraying, which is an annoying habit of brushes. I think they are just right if you also need them to fill in colors. There is still some stiffness in it that is similar to that of a regular marker, so if you are used to this kind of stiffness, you will find these markers easy to use.Īnother good thing about these markers is the size of the brush tips. They are quite easy to control, not too soft and pliant. I think it’s because the brush tips are long and flexible. Although I am not very experienced when it comes to using brush tipped markers, they are comparatively easy to use. I don’t think you need to keep on adding water. The ink thins out that way and they become more blendable. However, you can also dip them in water to get that watercolor effect. They don’t really need a lot of coaxing to deliver ink. On its own, the colors are very vibrant and vivid. You can try experimenting on the kind of paper that will work best for this. ![]() I think they are best used on this type of paper but mixed media is good as well. I used watercolor paper for these pens and I can say that they do lay down on paper smoothly. ![]() Some sets only include lots of rainbow colors, so it’s a good set to have if you prefer neutrals and earth tones for making landscapes and whatnot. I like that there are a lot of good earth-tone and neutral colors included in this set. I went for this one because it comes with more than 40 colors, which is something I like because I prefer marker sets where I can choose from a lot of colors. Not surprisingly, their brush tip marker sets are also good. This brand has always been a go-to brand for me when it comes to regular markers.
